The Five Points Alliance is embarking on the development of a Master Plan for Five Points South to guide its sustainable development into the future and is inviting all stakeholders, residents and businesses to have your say. 
A key aspect of this planning process is identify what Five Points South needs and how you feel it could be improved.

Please join us for our 2nd community input public meeting for the Five Points South master plan. During this meeting, KPS will review all input/ideas collected at the July 31st meeting and will be lead attendees into work groups for a deeper dive discussion on ideas from that first meeting.


2017 RECAP

• Facilitated four Community Involvement Meetings which took place in March, April, May and June of this year with area businesses, residents, civic groups and faith community

• Completed community survey in July 2017 with over 1200 responses 

• Completed three clean-up events which resulted in; 106 volunteers, 331 volunteer hours, cleared 2,720 feet of sidewalks/alleys and collected 3,812 pounds of tree from within the community.

The newly formed Five Points Alliance (a nine member board of area stakeholders) has contract local firm KPS to develop the 130 Years and Forward Plan for Five Points South. The master plan process is a yearlong project that will tie in with the City of Birmingham framework plan, which will start July 2018.

The point of the master plan is to provide direction on streetscape improvements, connection to UAB, business/residential infill, wayfinding, branding, timelines and implementation.

• Illustrate the direction in which Five Points South should evolve
• Provide a guide development decisions
• Ensure that developments preserve and enhance the neighborhood
• Provide a pattern for development that strives for a sustainable vision
• Coordinate infrastructure improvements
